KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Headquarters on Wednesday decided to depute SP Bhog Bahadur Thapa in place of SP Ramesh Prasad Kharel as the in-charge of the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka for the time being.
SP Kharel is embarking on a two-week official visit to Beijing to participate in the International Security Symposium organised by the People’s Republic of China scheduled for November 3-17.
The symposium will focus on the ways to bolster and maintain the security of the capital cities throughout the world.
DIG Bigyan Raj Sharma, spokesperson for the Nepal Police, informed that SP Thapa will take Kharel’s place with effect from Wednesday until the latter returns home.
Thapa is the chief of the Metropolitan Police Control. He was also the security head for Sher Bahadur Deuba during his premiership, and has already served as in-charge of Siraha and Nawalparasi districts.
