KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday it would begin issuing Machine Readable Passport from Friday. Bharat Paudel, Chief of Passport Division, said the ministry would start issuing specimen passports to check whether the personalisation system was fully functioning. Thereafter, the ministry will distribute sample passports to all its foreign missions and foreign countries’ diplomatic missions in Kathmandu and send some copies to the International Civil Aviation Organisation, said Paudel. On Wednesday, MoFA received a token consignment of MRP booklets from Oberthur Technologies.
