KATHMANDU: The government has formed a five-member commission to investigate the crash of the Fishtail helicopter that met with an accident near the base camp of Mt. Amadablum on its way to rescue two Japanese mountaineers.
Two crewmembers Caption Sabin Basnet and engineer Purna Awale died in the crash.
The probe team led by former Secretary Nagendra Ghimira has been tasked to submit its report within 60 days. The team members are Capt. of Air Dynasty Pramod Kumar Lala, senior engineer of Mountain Helicopter Pvt. Deepak Raj Koirala, coordinator of Aviation Medical Board Dr. Ranjit Singh Baral and under-secretary of Ministry of Tourism Suresh Acharya.
