RSS

LAMJUNG: Mid-Marshyangdi Hydropower Project has been completely shut down for regular cleaning and repair works.

The 70 MW project that had partially remained closed has been completely shut after repair of its Unit B turbine of 35 MW capacity started from today. Unit A turbine of the same capacity has been closed for the past one week.

According to Mid-Marshyangdi Hydropower Centre, Unit A turbine will come into operation after a week and the B will be back in service two weeks later.

But after December 6 both the turbines will resume operation, said project chief Mahendra Adhikari. Due to the closure of Marshyangdi, the country has been facing nearly 29 hours of load shedding a week.
