Powerful bomb defused in Bhairahawa hospital

BHAIRHAWA: A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army (NA) has defused a powerful bomb planted in the emergency ward of the Universal College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital at Bhairahawa, Rupandehi this evening.

The NA team had successfully defused the bomb after removing it from the hospital premises an hour and a half after receiving the information.

A sound of huge explosion was heard during the dismantling process. The bomb was found at the hospital at 4 pm. Following the discovery of the bomb, employees and patients were evacuated from the hospital. Shortly afterwards, a police team sealed off the area.

Meanwhile, Terai Mukti Morcha Rupandehi Army Chief Bhawani Singh has claimed responsibility for the act through a telephone call to local journalists.
