President queries PM Khanal about progress on peace and constitution drafting process

President Ram Baran Yadav met Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal and asked him about the progress on peace and constitution drafting process, Sunday.

At a meeting between the President and the Prime Minister at the President's office in Shital Niwas Sunday, President Yadav stressed on the
need for consensus among political parties for timely constitution and successful conclusion of peace process.

The President expressed concern over the lack of consensus among political partied just a few months before the extended deadline of the Constituent Assembly (CA) ends, said PM Khanal's press advisor Surya Thapa.

President Yadav also queried PM Khanal about the preparations for the budget for upcoming fiscal year saying the budget should not be delayed like it was last year.

In response PM Khanal said, he and other political leaders were striving for consensus to promulgate the constitution on time and conclude the peace process, according to Thapa.
