Special Court slaps 6 months jail sentence to tainted UML lawmaker Karki

The Special Court on Sunday sentenced suspended UML lawmaker Dol Bahadur Karki to six months in prison along with a penalty of Rs 100,000 after convicting him on a charge related to acceptance of bribery.

A division bench of justices Gauri Bahdur Karki, Om Prakash Mishra and Kedar Chalise issued the final verdict in Karki's case today. Karki's personal aide, Swami Brahmananda Udasi was also sentenced to four months in jail with the same penalty amount.

In August last year, Karki was arrested red handed while receiving bribe from a person aspiring to get a job of Nepal Police officer.
