The government is preparing to develop Kishsunji's Ashram at Badegaun of Lalitpur into a National Trust.
Former tourism minister Sarat Singh Bhandary, who is a long-time caretaker of late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, confirmed that formal works to convert the Ashram into a Trust would accelerate after the completion of the ongoing 13 days rites of Kishunji.
According to Bhandary, a cabinet meeting of the former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal had agreed to convert the Ashram into a National Trust.
"Former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City PL Singh has been asked to lead the Trust," Bhandari said.
The Trust will promote Bhattarai's life-long ideals and principles.
Amita Kapali, Kishunji's caretaker, will be one of the Trust members besides others, he added.
The Ashram was constructed by the government for former prime minister and Nepali Congress veteran leader Bhattarai to be used as his personal residence. nepalnews.com
