Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal instructed chiefs of all four security agencies to ensure law and order in the country, Friday.
At a meeting of the Security Council in Singha Durbar Friday, PM Khanal asked chiefs of the security agencies to make extra efforts to ensure law and order in the country in the absence of a home minister.
Nepal Army chief Chhatraman Singh Gurung, Nepal Police chief Ramesh Chand Thakuri, Armed Police Force chief Sanat Kumar Basnet and National Investigation Department chief Ashok Dev Bhatta were present in the meeting that prolonged for over four hours.
PM Khanal expressed special concern about the central jail shooting incident at the meeting.
He asked the security chiefs to coordinate and not to let the people feel the absence of home minister.
The security agencies in the country have been affected as a home minister has not been appointed for a long time. nepalnews.com
