Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has given additional portfolios to four ministers from UCPN (Maoist), Saturday.
At an informal cabinet meeting at PM's residence Baluwatar Saturday, PM Khanal asked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information and Communication, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, to look after the Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Land Reforms and Management and Ministry of Law and Justice.
Likewise, he asked Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Barshaman Pun to look after Ministry of Youth and Sports, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma to look after Ministry for Women, Children and Social Welfare, and Minister for Physical Planning and Works Top Bahadur Rayamajhi to look after the Ministry of Labour and Transportation Management.
PM Khanal asked the Maoist ministers to look after the additional ministries until other ministers are appointed. The ministries are the ones allocated allocated for the UCPN (Maoist) in the portfolio distribution agreement between the two parties.
The cabinet has not got full shape due to row over portfolio distribution of strategically important ministries over one month after Khanal's election PM.
Ministers have not been appointed in some strategically important ministries including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Local Development and Ministry of Home Affairs. nepalnews.com
