Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning and Works in the previous cabinet led by Madhav Kumar Nepal has still not vacated the government quarter in Pulchowk, over one month after he was relieved from the post.
According to the existing regulations, an outgoing minister should vacate the minister quarter within seven to ten days from being relieved from the post.
Gachchhadar is using the facilities including electricity, telephone, and computer at the government expense.
All other ministers in the Madhav Kumar Nepal government except Gachchhadar have vacated the government quarters.
When asked, Gachchhadar's close aide Yagya Chaudhary informed, they were in the process of vacating the quarter and that the delay in vacating was due to unavailability of a suitable house.
Not that we have not found any house to shift, but we have not found a house fulfilling the security protocol of former ministers, Chaudhary told Nepalnews.
Sources say, Gachchhadar has rented a house in Saatdobato, which he uses for meeting his party cadres. nepalnews.com
