Govt, Maoists resume talks at Hotel Radisson

KATHMANDU: The meeting between the government and UCPN-Maoist has resumed at Hotel Radisson in the Capital on Friday afternoon.

The meeting is expected to come up with an understanding on the mechanism to look after the management of armies and arms in the post-UNMIN situation in the country.The UNMIN's mandate is ending on Saturday.

Early today morning, the meeting had discussed about handing over the UNMIN’s responsibilities to the Special Committee.

UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Home Minister Bhim Rawal, among others, are taking part in the meeting.
