Saroj Pradhan, chief of the Road Extension Project said the project carried out a survey when the numbers of accidents increased on the nine-km long six-lane road. He said it is necessary to construct 11 overhead bridges to control road accidents there. He suggested constructing overhead bridges at different places including Jadibuti, Lokanthali, Kaushaltar, Gatthaghar, Sallaghari and Suryabinayak.

It is said that there will be room only for traffic police under the overhead bridge.

Pradhan said over head bridge alone could not control the accidents and he stressed on the need for organising different public awareness programmes.
