Construction of Nepal's biggest ring road to start

REPUBLICA
DANG, Jan 17: The country´s "biggest" ring road is going to be constructed in Ghorahi, Dang.

According to a preliminary report prepared by technicians in a month, the proposed 28-km long and 30-meter wide ring road will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 billion. However, Ghorahi Municipality says the cost will go up due to rising price.

Municipality´s Executive Officer Hari Prasad Pandey said that construction work that will be started two years later is expected to complete within seven years.

"We are preparing Ring Road Management Directive. Once the municipal council approves it we will take more initiatives," Pandey said.

Pandey said the ring road, once it comes into operation, will not only benefit the people of Ghorahi Municipality, but also public of Rapti Zone. RSS
