Gachhadhar slams Big 3's lust for power

RSS

LALITPUR: Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Nepal (Democratic) Bijaya Kumar Gachhadhar said the peace and constitution writing processes could not be put in motion owing to the big three parties' lust for power.

Speaking at a programme organised by Tharu Indigenous NGO Federation (TINF), he said, if the three major parties failed to form consensus government even in the last phase of talks between them then that will be the end of their moral responsibility.

Deputy Prime Minister Gachhadhar claimed that the fringe parties will ensure the environment for peace and constitution writing when the big parties --- Unified CPN-Maoist, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress --- give up their claims for the government as the major three parties cannot ensure the environment for the peace and constitution writing process.

He said Unified CPN-Maoist could play a decisive role to form the government when it desires as it is the biggest party in the government.

During the programme, Chairman of TINF Gopal Dahit said the new constituent should guarantee the indigenous Tharu community's rights.
