Laxman Tharu caught with pants down

KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday raided Shree Ganesh Guest House at Bagbazaar and caught Laxman Tharu in a compromising position. Tharu is the chairman of Federal Democratic National Forum (FDNF) advocating the rights of indigenous nationalities in the Terai.

A special task force of Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka had carried out surprise raids on various hotels in the area as a part of its ongoing efforts to check anti-social activities.

Superintendent of Police Ramesh Prasad Kharel, in-charge, MPR said Tharu was found to be indulging in immoral activities with a 20-year-old woman Radhika Magar (name changed) when the police raided the guest house and was caught red-handed. The woman was an employee at the guest house.

The police have also arrested the woman and guest house owner Parbati Puri (34), hailing from Lubhu of Lalitpur.

“We raided the guest houses, acting on information that they had long become fronts for illegal sex trade and other anti-social activities. “We have brought a charge against them, including Tharu under Some Public Offences (Control and Punishment) Act- 1970,” informed SP Kharel.

They have been taken into police custody.
