KATHMANDU: The earthquake that shook the Kathmandu Valley in the wee hours of Monday morning (at 1:55 a.m. Nepal Standard Time) had its epicentre in China's Xizang-Nepal border region, according United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occured at 4:11:20 a.m. local time at the epicentre (28.535°N, 85.668°E), which lies 95 km in the north from Kathmandu, was measured 4.9 on the Richter Scale.
Parameters of the earthquake are measured as:
NST= 59, Nph= 61, Dmin=>999 km, Rmss=0.78 sec, Gp=101°,
M-type=body wave magnitude (Mb), Version=6
