KATHMANDU: Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal has officially been recognised as the world’s shortest living man in Pokhara on Thursday.
A team of Guinness World Records recognised his height as 67.08 cms in a check-up at Phewa City Hospital early in the morning. The team had measured his height and confirmed it prior to handing him the certificate recognising him as the world’s shortest man.
Marco Frigatti, vice chairman of the Guinness World Records (GWR) handed over the world’s shortest man’s certificate on his eighteenth birthday amid a function at a hotel in Pokhara. Surya Bahadur Karki, a CA member also attended the function.
Khagendra succeeds Colombia’s 24-year-old Edward Nino Hernandez who was officially recognised as the shortest man in the world on September 4, 2010.
Born to Rup Bahadur and Dhana Maya Thapa Magar in Baglung in 1992, in western Nepal, Magar currently weighs 6 kgs.
