PM Nepal thanks all for support

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Outgoing Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday wished successful tenure to PM-elect Jhalanath Khanal while thanking all for support during his tenure.

Issuing a press release, PM Nepal said that he is extremely happy as the nation got a new PM though majority. “I was extremely sad as no new government was formed for seven months after my resignation,” he said.

While stating that he concentrated on peace process, new constitution, security, development and reviving governmental agencies, PM Nepal added: “I wish new PM Jhalanath Khanal complete success in completing the remaining tasks.”

PM Nepal also outlined some of the works completed in his tenure despite the challenging situation. He enlisted disqualification of underage Maoist combatants, handover of the combatants to Special Committee, formation of foundation for army integration and rehabilitation as some of successes.

“I believe that soon the Maoist combatants will be integrated and rehabilitated based on mutual understanding forming the foundation for new constitution,” he added.

He also thanks political parties of ruling coalition for their continued support. “I owe you for the belief and support extended to me for minimizing the risks of extremism, institutionalizing the democratic republic, moving forward the peace process and running the state,” he said.

PM Nepal also expressed gratitude to all political parties, leaders, lawmakers, government employees, security agencies, professional organizations, international communities and citizens.
