BARA, Feb 18: UCPN (Maoist) chairman Puspha Kamal Dahal said that he didn’t withdraw his prime ministerial candidacy as a bargain for home ministry.
Talking to media upon his arrival to Simra Airport on Friday, Dahal also informed that Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal had assured him of reaching an agreement after the central committee meeting of his party CPN-UML.
“I have told PM to convince his party on the seven-point agreement,” Dahal said. “Since the problem is in his party, I have asked him to solve it as soon as possible.”
He also added that Maoist is open to all alternatives for government formation.
Dahal had met PM Khanal before leaving for Simra at the PM´s residence on Friday morning.
Dahal is accompanied by vice-chairmen Mohan Vaidya, Baburam Bhattarai and Giriraj Mani Pokharel. The leaders will train around 400 cadres of the Mithila and Awadh State Committees.
