KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has increased the number of flights and also slashed airfare on the Kathmandu-Delhi route to Rs 3,000, excluding taxes, in a bid to lure passengers back from competitors.
Under the new offer unveiled on Thursday, passengers can fly to Delhi and return to Kathmandu at just Rs 6,000, the national flag carrier said. The rate is again exclusive of taxes.
The corporation has also announced resumption of normal operations on other routes, as its second aircraft that had been on a C-check, is now back.
“With the second aircraft back in operation we have increased the number of flights on the Kathmandu-Delhi sector to 22 per week,” NAC said in a press release.
NAC has also increased flights to Kuala Lumpur to six days a week. The new flight schedule says the corporation will now operate three flights a week on routes like Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha and Bangkok.
The corporation had drastically cut the number of flights due to the appearance of cracks on the outlet guide vanes of one engine of its two aircraft and also the C-check. The engine was repaired in Spain and the C-check done in Israel.
NAC was operating just 11 flights a week with its single operational Boeing 757.
