Peace and constitution my priority: PM Khanal

KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister elect Jhalanath Khanal said writing constitution and leading the peace process to the logical end were his first priorities.

Talking to media persons at his own residence, Dallu, on Friday morning, newly elected Prime Minister Khanal expressed his commitment that he would include all political parties to this regard.

The consensus and cooperation have no alternative, he said, adding that people's problems will be solved making a small government.

Many people thronged his residence to congratulate and express him best wishes.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Qiu Guohong congratulated and expressed best wishes to the newly elected Prime Minister Khanal, reaching the latter's residence today.

On the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador Guohong said China would help Nepal's peace process and further extend the bilateral relations, said newly elected Prime Minister Khanal.

Similarly, Indian Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh congratulated Prime Minister elect Khanal and expressed best wishes over telephone last night. The new government will give importance to the relations to both neighbours and the assistance they provide to Nepal too, Prime Minister elect Khanal said.
