The government on Tuesday decided to rescue and bring all stranded Nepali workers from Libya bearing all expenses at the earliest.

A meeting of council of ministers held at Singh Durbar this afternoon decided to initiate the process of rescuing 1961 Nepalis currently stranded in different parts of Libya, which is reeling under violent anti-government protests.
Minister without portfolio and government's spokesperson Gangalal Tuladhar told reporters after the cabinet meeting that the cost for rescuing stranded Nepali workers would be around Rs 70 million.
Minister Tuladhar also said that one Chinese company Chinese company Sino-hydro based in Ghat has agreed to bring 646 migrant Nepali workers from Libya in its own expenses. The Foreign Ministry had requested the Chinese company for help to rescue the workers. nepalnews.com
