Makalu Air mishap in Mugu

JUMLA, Nov 21: A Cessna Caravan aircraft of Makalu Air met an accident at the Talcha Airport of Mugu district late Monday afternoon.

Pilot Captain Pradip Jung Shah was seriously injured in the mishap while two passengers sustained minor injuries.

The brakes did not work during landing in the chartered aircraft, according to Chief District Office Surya Bahadur Khatri.

The aircraft, call sign 9NAJN, took off from Nepalgunj at 4 pm with 11 onboard.

A medical team has been dispatched from headquarters Gumgadi, two hours on away on foot, for his rescue.

Security forces and locals put off the fire on the front of the aircraft after the mishap, according to airport chief Bhim Dutta Pant.
