Paying last respects to leader Bhattarai starts

KATHMANDU: Last tributes are being paid to the mortal body of Nepali Congress (NC)'s founder leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai in Dasharath Stadium of Kathmandu.

The last tribute-paying programme started after Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal wrapped the body of late Bhattarai with national flag.

A systematic arrangement has been made for the members of public and wll-wishers to pay last tribute to leader Bhattarai. Thousands of people have been lined up to pay last respects to veteran democratic leader Bhattarai.

Earlier, the dead body of Bhattarai was taken to the Nepali Congress, Central Office, Sanepa from Bhattarai Ashram Bandegaun of Lalitpur.

NC President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel had paid last respects to leader Bhattarai by wrapping his body with party's flag at party office.

Then, Bhattarai's body was taken to Dasharath Stadium from the party office this morning.

Chairperson of Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', including leaders of various political parties, Ministers, government officials and members of general public also padi their last tributes to leader Bhattarai in the stadium.
