KATHMANDU, Dec 5: The UCPN (Maoist) on Sunday agreed for the three-pillar economic model in the new constitution during a meeting of the high-level taskforce formed to sort out debated issues in the draft of new constitution.
According to Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ramesh Lekhak, who was present in the Sunday’s meeting at Singha Durbar, said that the Maoists agreed to proposal put forward by NC and CPN-UML.
“We have agreed to accept the three pillar economic policy that will ensure independent development and participation of public, private and co-operative sectors,” Lekhak told reporters after the meeting.
In earlier meeting, Maoist had opposed the idea saying that the economic policy should put state on a dominating role.
