KATHMANDU: In coordinated checks carried out by traffic cops focusing on college student on Wednesday, around 250 students were detained along with their two-wheelers. Of the total number of students, 62 failed to produce driving licence. DSP Basant Pant informed that nine two-wheelers had been modified. “What was surprising was, 179 of them did not have both driving license and ownership certificate,” he said. “They awill be fined Rs 200 under the Motor Vehicle and Transport Management Act, while the modified bikes have been impounded.” According to him, most of the students belonged to Golden Gate International College, KIST College, Min Bhawan Campus, White House College and Paropakar College among others.
