Prime accused in the Sudan scam, former Inspector General of Nepal Police Om Bikram Rana and Shambhu Bharati, the local agent of the London-based supplier, Assured Risks Ltd, were released from judicial custody after they paid the Rs 150 million bail each.
Bharati deposited the bail through bank guarantee of Civil Bank and Siddhartha Bank while Rana presented the bail by mortgaging his land ownerships.
The two had been sent to Dillibazaar prison last week after they failed to pay the bail amount set by the court after separate hearings.
The bail amount set for them is the highest so far in the Sudan scam trial. nepalnews.com
