Kathmandu: With seventh round of polling also failing to elect new prime minister, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang scheduled the eighth round of polls for September 26, on Tuesday. In the seventh round, Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified CPN-Maoist polled 252 votes out of the 521 votes polled. Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepali Congress got only 119 of the 515 votes cast. CPN-UML and UDMF constituents chose to stay neutral as in earlier rounds. MJF-Nepal opted to stay neutral after it sensed that the voting will be inconclusive. MJF-D lawmakers were absent.
