Tara Air plane crashes at Simikot‚ no casualties

NEPALGUNJ: A Tara Airplane (9NAGQ) bound for the Simikot Airport in Humla district from Nepalgunj carrying food crashed while landing at the airport at 8.50 on Friday morning.



All three crew members on board, Pilot Bodh Raj Niraula, Co-Pilot Maheshwor Man Shrestha and Air-hostess D. Joshi managed to escape unhurt in the incident.



The incident occurred when the plane skidded off the runway, informed chief of the Civil Aviation Authority's Shyam Kishor Shah at Nepalgunj office. The wings and the rear end of the aircraft have been damaged in the accident.



Following the incident, two planes of Tara Air were turned back without landing, while all the other flights at the airport have been cancelled, informed Shah.
