Plane crash-lands in Simikot‚ no injuries

NEPALGUNJ: A cargo plane crash-landed at the Simikot airport in Humla this morning.

According to Shyamkishor Shah, officer at Civil Aviation Authority, Nepalgunj, Tara Air’s Dornier 9 NAGQ aircraft, which was ferrying food, sustained ‘minor damages’ in the incident.

The crew of the plane – Captain Bodhraj Niraula, co-pilot Mahesworman Shrestha and air hostess Dipa Joshi –– are reported safe. “What caused the incident will be known only after an investigation,” said Shah.

He informed that officials from the Department of Flight Security will reach the site and begin investigations tomorrow.

Following the incident, 12 flights to Simikot from Surkhet and Nepalgunj were cancelled.
