Fuel supply likely to ease Saturday onwards

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, June 25: The supply of products is expected to ease in Kathmandu Valley from Saturday onwards, with the agitating entrepreneurs affiliated to Central Region Petroleum Transportation Entrepreneurs Association (CRPTEA) withdrew their strike following talks with Nepal Oil Corporation on Friday.

The CRPTEA had announced the strike protesting the NOC decision on Tuesday to relocate tankers transporting fuel from the Baireni-Amlekhgunj route to the Kathmandu-Raxaul route. The strike has been withdrawn after the NOC agreed to roll back its decision.

Due to the strike, the supply of petroleum products was halted, from the Thankot depot to private petrol pumps in the Valley for the last two days. Motorists were seen queuing up for fuel at state-owned petrol pumps.
