Insurance hope for journalists

KATHMANDU: Minister for Information and Communication Agni Sapkota today said he would take the proposal of life insurance for journalists to the upcoming cabinet for ‘serious’ discussion.

At a meeting with journalists to discuss future programmes of the ministry, Sapkota said,” We have concluded that there should be life insurance for journalists and we are discussing the criteria for it and I lend all the support for the proposal.”

He also informed that the ministry is in discussion with Nepal Telecom to make a uniform telephone tariff inside the country.

“As a new progamme in the new fiscal the Ministry is also conducting feasibility study to provide Internet facility to schools,” he added.

He further said the ministry would focus on improving NTC service.
