Tourist arrivals on decline

Tourist arrival registered highest in the month of March‚ Bista said‚ adding that only 58 tourists came in February.

KANCHANPUR: The number of tourists entering Nepal via Gaddachauki checkpoint is decreasing.

Gaddachauki office chief Ran Bahadur Bista said 823 tourists entered Nepal between January and July, a decline from around 1,000 in the same period last year.

They said about 800 tourists entered India via this border point in the same period. The border office has collected revenue worth Rs 3.2 million from tourists this year.

Tourist arrival registered highest in the month of March, Bista said, adding that only 58 tourists came in February.

Tourists mainly from the US, Britain, Denmark, Germany and Russia enter Nepal through this border point to visit Kathmandu and Pokhara, Bista added.
