CHITWAN, July 6: Chitwan police seized 265 kilograms of hashish worth more than IRs 8 lakhs from Manahara river, Chitwan on Tuesday.
The hashish was well packed in 16 different sacks, Chitwan Superintendent of Police Uttam Raj Thanet informed.
The sacks were being smuggled to India via bank of Manahara river which is the most common route for smuggling, locals said.
The smugglers are absconding.
